FAQs

COVID-19 Update:

We are following strict guidelines and restrictions from the State and CDC. We are taking precautionary measures to keep everyone safe while having a great time.  Here is what you can expect from us.

• Everything will be sanitized, including tables, chairs, and all materials provided. We will be sanitizing the space before and immediately after class.

• We have reduced our max capacity by 50% occupancy to keep everyone at a safe distance. Everyone will have their own work station (table and chair) and will be six feet apart.

• During check-in, we will be doing a temperature check (through a contactless thermometer). Unfortunately, we cannot accept anyone with a temperature of 100.4 and above. We highly recommend that you stay at home if you are ill. We will also be asking several questions prior to entry.

• Water will be served during class

• We will be requiring everyone to wear a mask during the class. No exceptions will be made unless you have a written note from your physician stating you do not need to wear one. We encourage you to bring your own but will also have disposable ones to use if you do not have one on hand.

We reserve the right to make adjustments to our processes and procedures to be in line with the State and CDC guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to keeping our staff, instructors, and each other safe.

Do I have to be artistic to take a class?

We welcome all levels of artistic abilities! We provide guided instructions in a fun and relaxing environment. Some classes may ask for some experience but that information will be indicated in the class title and description.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the class. Please take into account traffic and parking in midtown. We’d like you to have enough time to come in and feel at home before the class begins!

How long are the classes?

The classes can range from 1 to 3 hours depending on the instructor and subject. The length of the classes will be indicated on the calendar and in the class description. In some situations, the class may run longer than the estimated time. Our instructors will do their best to stay on time.

Where do I park?

We are located at the intersection of 16th Street and U Street. There is free 1 or 2 hour parking on either side of 16th Street during the weekdays. Midtown tends to have heavy traffic during the week during rush hours so please take this into account for your commute. On weekends and holidays, there is no time limit for street parking on U Street or any lettered streets (i.e. A-Z Streets). There are time restrictions on weekends on streets that are numbered (i.e.16th st, etc). We recommend checking the signs around you to ensure you are not in violation, especially for our classes that are more than two hours. We want to ensure you are able to arrive before the class with ample time to relax and have a great time so we recommend planning to arrive 15 minutes prior to the class! Please note that The Creative Space is not liable for any damages to your vehicle or parking violations.

Do you take walk-ins for classes?

Due to limited seating for our classes, we require you to reserve your seats on our website and do not allow walk-ins.

Can I bring my own food and drinks to the class?

Yes! Please feel free to bring your own beverages and small snacks to the class. We do not provide plastic utensils, paper plates, or napkins so please remember to bring these if needed. Some classes may offer light snacks or beverages which will be indicated in the class description.

What is your cancellation policy for classes?

We understand that life happens and there are things that may come up. If you booked your class through our website, we offer full refunds up until 1 week prior to the class. Anything past 1 week, we will not be able to issue a refund and do not offer class credits or transfers. The instructors prepare for classes well in advance when purchasing materials. On rare occasion, if a workshop does not meet a student minimum, the workshop may be cancelled. If this is the case, you will be notified and refunded in full. If your class is purchased through an instructor’s site, they will have their own refund policies which you will be subject to in place of The Creative Space’s policies.

Can I sit next to my family or friends attending the class?

Absolutely! Please indicate on the order form in the notes section whom you would like to sit next to in the class. We will do our best to accommodate. If you are purchasing the ticket through the instructor’s website, they may have a separate process you will need to follow so that accommodations can be made.

Is there an age requirement to attend a class?

Yes, all those coming to the classes must be 16 years old or older. Children under the age of 16 may attend youth classes or other classes booked as a private event. Please contact us directly to inquire!
